Vera Caslavska

Vera Caslavska was an incredible Czechoslovakian gymnast who competed throughout the sixties in the Olympic Games. Vera fascinated spectators with her dazzling moves and was probably one of the most well-rounded athletes ever. Furthermore, she gained the hearts of her countrymen during the 1968 Olympics considering the fact that Soviet tanks invaded her homeland a few months before the Olympic Games. In the 1965 European games she won the all around Gold Metal in the Gymnastic field which includes the Vaulting, the Uneven Bars, the Beams, and the Floor Exercises. Vera Caslavska has earned more individual Olympic Gold metals  than anyone in history.

She brought motivation to the sport when it needed it most and remains an inspirational figure in feminine gymnastics. Vera Caslavska was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1998.
