Fraternal Activities

Fraternalism and fraternal life insurance are founded upon the simple, kind and loving idea that every individual is his “brother’s keeper” and that each of us has a responsibility to each other.  It was this “spirit of doing good to each other” that inspired the idea of fraternal societies.

The fraternal lodge system constitutes one of the most powerful forces for altruistic good in the United States.  Through 120 lodges throughout the state of Texas, SPJST members reach out by committing their time and energy to support worthwhile causes.  They are taking the best that the SPJST has to offer -- a tradition of helping people to care for their families -- and are extending these values to their communities.

Fraternalism seeks to build new relationships.  With new relationships come vitality, adventure, the freedom to strive, compete and to create.  Fraternal involvement makes men, women and children happy in the work that they are doing.  Community service projects and social gatherings that strive to achieve a sense of purpose make SPJST members proud to be members and attract others.  Check out the many upcoming statewide contests and family-oriented activities posted on this page.  Coming youth events are posted in the Youth section.  For local lodge activities, please refer to the Local Lodges section.
