Job Description Summary
• Process and data entry of all Accounts Payable.
• Maintains Vestnik subscriptions and advertising published in Vestnik.
• Acknowledges preauthorized drafts for all annuities.
• Performs other general office and clerical duties as requested.
• Mails Universal Life histories, annuity statements, direct bill premium notice, NI/termination report, and miscellaneous items for other departments using inserter system.
• Scans updated and old documents using optical scanner.
• Answers telephone calls, pertaining to insurance payments and questions from members, agents, lodge officers, and employees pertaining to accounting and miscellaneous items.
• Process lodge reports and labels, as requested.
• Type checks and letters, as requested.
• Back-up to processing and data entry of direct bill payments and miscellaneous accounting.
• Back-up to data entry of all file maintenance of insurance records.
• Back-up to preparing bank deposits by compiling premiums from members and sending check or other forms of payment to bank.
Skills/Qualifications
• Must be computer literate in Windows-based software, including word processing, presentations, and spreadsheet programs.
• Ability to operate office machines, such as burster, inserter, postage machine, check protector, typewriter, 10-key calculator, scanner, copier, and printers.
• Insurance office and bookkeeping experience a plus.
• Must have excellent written communication skills including strong spelling and grammar. Must have the ability to carefully proof work and ensure proper format use.
• Have excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and present a professional image both in person and over the phone.
• Must be organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Present a professional image, maintain a positive attitude, be a self-starter, take initiative, be dependable, and take pride in work product.
• Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• The ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
Education, Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge
• High school diploma required.
• Accounting experience preferred.
• Training in Windows-based software (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets) a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Stand for brief periods of time.
• Sit throughout shift.
• Use hands to finger or handle documents.
• Reach with hands and arms periodically.
• Must be able to communicate orally and hear to assist clients and co-workers.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.

SUMMARY
Serves as an assistant to the State Youth Director and provides clerical and administrative support to Fraternal Department. This position is ideal for a college students needing flexible working hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides clerical assistance to the State Youth Director and the Fraternal Department.

Assists at Youth Functions; may involve travel and overnight stays.

Assists in camp planning and program execution. Completes projects assigned by State Youth Director.

Responds to telephone requests in a professional manner.

Other duties as assigned by the State Youth Director.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate will have past experience as a participant within the SPJST youth program.

Must be computer literate in Windows based software including word processing, presentations and spreadsheet programs.

Excellent writing skills including strong spelling and grammar. The ability to carefully proof work and ensure proper format use.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE

Clerical experience.
